I've only been blogging a short time. About six months, I think.
I started posting here because almost all of my friends lived overseas or in Melbourne, and I thought it would be a nice way to keep everyone updated. I have to agree with Jodi about facebook, I'm not a fan. I thought this would be more personal. I also read quite a lot of blogs so felt like I could be making a small contribution, too.
Little did I know what a warm, kind and supportive community this would turn out to be. I love getting to meet people here. I love reading all of your comments. Sometimes it still takes me by surprise that people visit this space.
One of the lovely and talented ladies I've had the pleasure of getting to know is Nath from le petit oiseau. The other day a package arrived at my front door from her. A gorgeous little elephant she'd made and a pair of sweet booties made by her ma-in-law. I'm so touched to receive such a thoughtful and beautiful gift for our little girl. Thanks Nath – you're a gem. xxx

I think I might have been reading almost the entire 6 months.
ReplyDeleteI am constantly amazed by how easy it is to form online relationships with people we don't know. I was thinking about little bear today when I was doing hair, and imagining a rag doll I wanted to make her. Then I felt really creepy, but at the same time humbled when I remembered all the sweet things that people have told me through this blog.
I feel the same way as you, and every single time I read the sweet things that people I barely know leave me, it seems to brighten my day that much more. Hooray for blogger and the wonderful people we meet here :)
Hi Anna. I'm not sure how I found my way to this blog - but I do know I'm glad for it. I've been popping in every day since.
ReplyDeleteSo thank you for this wonderful atmosphere that you've created.
Be well, xx
I've been thinking about this lately too, Anna. Somehow the almost entirely female world of blogging - at least, the blogosphere I travel in- brings out the best, most nurturing, most supportive aspect of the women in it. So in this often isolate state of motherhood, there'sthis whole community to share life details with. I've never seen a blogger I love get flamed, and I can only imagine the rush of protective commentary that would follow...
ReplyDeleteIt's very special.
Hi - I just found your blog via Soulemama. I love your moment photo above. I love the bloggin community too. You meet so many great people are they are all so lovely and supportive. They are also a great source of inspiration. I hope you continue to enjoy your blogging journey.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. I started my blog to connect to so many people I knew all over the world. (Reading your blog makes me feel connected back to Sydney, where I lived up until last month.)
