Nicole came to visit this weekend. My dear, dear friend from Melbourne, who is able to make you feel like you're the only person in the world when she speaks to you. Some people have an unreal ability to focus themselves entirely into your conversation. I'm working my way towards that.

Weekends go quickly when they're good ones. PB went to the Manly surfing festival and came home hysterical-in-a-good-way. We met Jill for a coffee and mooched about the markets, leaving as the proud owners of this rug which we're both enamored with. Rugs are a funny thing. They're not something you can just go and purchase – unless you can go purchase this, we certainly can't – they're something you have to find. And then you both have to agree on your find. And then you have to find finances for your find. It's all very complicated.

But we love the rug. And we love Nic. Thanks for visiting us. We miss you already. xxx

  1. nice rug! i so agree on how difficult it is to find a rug, have been looking for one for 3 years now.
So wished i could be a good listener and make ppl feel important, i often interrupt ppl and then feel really bad about it, or talk too much about myself :(

  3. Oh I have serious rug envy. I have been looking for the perfect rug for some time now. This inspires me to keep looking. I have almost settled for an Ikea rug several times.

i think you`re right and could be why we`ve only ever found the one awesome rug in all our years of looking. congrats on finding that treasure.

  5. That rug is awesome. Time to reveal a secret? When B and I were out scouring charity shops yesterday we found one kinda similar (OK, maybe not quite as nice, but hey ho). A bright blue one with reds and greens. It's amazing. Most fantastically awesome thing though? £7.99. Gotta be topping the list of best finds ever, right?

Having the coolest of friends to visit is so much fun. It's lovely to hear you had such a good weekend. xx

  7. Oh. My. Goodness! I just bought Nicole's book yesterday for Little T's birthday. And then lamented to my Mum about my significant lack of creative talent and how I couldn't spoil the pages with my squiggles which is good, right, because it is for Little Tuesday who has no foibles of confidence. It (the book) is a work of genius.

Glad you're having an ace visit. There is nothing like dear friends to warm up the heart xx

  8. Your rug is just beautiful!
I too am trying to work towards that kind of listening, what an amazing quality. I'm finding it hard to silence my brain/worries enough to hear properly though!
