I have caught PB's lergy. So has poor bubba. We are all doing it tough this week. My mother-in-law has been a huge help. Today she came again and helped me to unpack some more. Slowly evidence is resurfacing that we actually do have a floor.

This morning I woke up and really just wanted to stay in bed. I realised that you do not have a day off as a parent. Suck it up and keep going. Unashamedly hot showers get rid of the shivers and muscle pains. Thankfully this new place has some stellar water pressure.

These pictures were taken at Porch and Parlour in Bondi. A couple of weeks ago when BB's little toothie pegs had just started to poke through. A move and teeth and a lergy. Poor lamb.

We have moved. PB did it. Three days. Ten carloads. A ute and a mate for the furniture. Cleaning the old place. It was a stellar performance but he has run himself down and has a gone back to work unwell.

Now it is my turn. The state of this new place is chaos. Boxes, books, bags, clothes, nappies, socks, surfboards, magazines and bits of random crap ready to jump out and trip you over. I feel so overwhelmed at the moment I can't see the beginning let alone the end of it. I tried to do some today with BB and managed to move two boxes into another room. She is not into organising this place. I have rustled up some family and friends to help out this week.

There are still things to be happy about. We love our new place, BB is feeling a little better, Ranunculus have come into season and tomorrow mornings breakfast date with Hayley is still on. And I can still take crap iPhone pictures to post here until my card reader resurfaces.

Rest up BB as tomorrow will be a big day.

We're moving. I feel a little bit sick thinking about it. Anxious. PB keeps telling me it's ok. We're not moving far so all we have to do is chuck stuff in the car and drive it to our new place. Then the furniture the following day. I will be with BB who is still a little unhappy about her toothies whilst PB lifts and hauls what is probably eighty percent my stuff.

So this will be the last post until everything settles and my computer is back in action. Thank you so much for all your sweet comments lately and I hope you all have a super week. xxx

PS. We went to Jill's today. Ate lentil soup, played with the children and admired her new cushion. Left with another set of cord overalls. Because that's what happens when you go to Jill's. You have lots of fun and leave with vintage overalls. It was a good way to spend our last day before the chaos sets in.

Look who arrived in the post today!

One of Evie's gorgeous handmade Bow Tie Boys. Poor BB is not a happy chappy today, so I did not introduce them properly in case this poor fellow got his face chomped with her sharp little tooth.

Check out Evie's Etsy store for more of her handmade creations. I'm loving the bearded blokes, too.

PS. I am wishing BB's rainbow paddle pop inspired cardigan came in my size!

The other day we went to a friend's house for dinner. For dessert she made what was possibly the most delicious moreish cake I've ever eaten. Upside Down Pineapple Cake. This afternoon I had another friend over and we decided to give it a bash. Amazing. We ate half of it and PB and I almost polished off the remainder this evening.

Recipe here. (We used wholemeal flour).

Sometimes I don't give my husband enough credit.

The other day he suggested that next time we go to the supermarket BB could sit in the trolley. Oh no, I said, she's far to little for that. But he saw a smaller baby the other day in the trolley. No no, I continued, trust me she's not ready. And with that I made him promise that if by any chance they found themselves at a supermarket without me he would not under any circumstance put her in a trolley seat.

This suggestion and others like it make my chest go tight.  The mum has the last say when it comes to the baby. Too hot, too cold, too tired. It's my call. I think it's time to share these decisions a little. And PB is a super dad. Really super. He always supports whatever I think is right so I need to cut him some slack and chill.

On the way home from the mountains we stopped by to get some supplies for dinner. I was feeling relaxed. Let's try her in the trolley, I said. And we did. She was fine. She loved it. (And luckily I had the camera in my bag, because who doesn't carry around a big fat DLSR with them at all times?)

I now feel even more confident and a little bit excited about doing a big supermarket shop just the two of us. I think little BB will love it too.

We've returned home from a night up in the Blue Mountains with PB's family. Little Baby Bear loves being outdoors, as I'm told many babies do. Between that and checking out her feet she had a pretty exciting day. Smiles all round. Check out those toothies poking through in the last (blurry) pic!

PS. We are a bit obsessed with this retro dimple hat hand knitted by Vicki. Check out her etsy store for more.

Today I introduced BB to Donut. Donut arrived as a gift from the lovely Lexi and her family (thank you!! xx). He is made by Jess at Teddy Bears Wednesday. I have always loved her work and am so happy that one of her little guys has come to live with us. BB thinks he is delicious. I'm going to take temporary custody of him until she learns not to chew his face off. Especially now she has two little teeth beginning to poke out of her bottom gummies. Ouch – poor Donut!

Thanks for all the lovely comments about yesterday's photo. Here are some more. We had so much fun making BB laugh and being out in the afternoon sunshine. The third one makes me laugh, BB giving her best Blue Steel.

And yes, those are the leggings from a few posts ago. I got them here and I have been wearing them non-stop. Between these and the yellow jeans my legs are all about happy vibes. BB's hat and jumper are knitted by the super-talented Vicki, check out her Etsy store.

Good news. Today we put a deposit on the flat. After another look we decided that a backyard is a good trade off for a not-so-sunny house... with a bath and dishwasher and wood floors etc. At least it will be cool in summer. Thanks Lexi, who sent me the link and advised me to write a cover letter with our application. It worked.

Bad news. Wee Baby Bear has been a bit unwell the last few days. She did not poo since Saturday. I know this is common in breastfed babies, but it has not yet happened to her. It's scary when our usually happy baby squeals in pain. What to do? After a lot of bicycle legs (again, thanks Lexi!) and tummy rubs she is back to normal. Such a relief.

PS. Are you loving these overalls? More hand-me-downs from Jillian. And a Rittenhouse onesie underneath from the Little Pinwheel sale.

A little toy of BB's I am slightly obsessed with. Last night she fed all night. Every time I woke up she was suckling away. Sweet little girl. Hence I've done silly things all day. Left bread on the counter at the bakery. Lost my wallet several times. Ran over real estate agent's foot with the buggy. Had two real coffee's. Marveled at the shapes I can make with a bunch of triangles.

I viewed a flat over the weekend. Ticks all of our boxes, except for one. Not very sunny. But it has a dishwasher, 2 bedrooms, wood floors, a backyard and a bath. And character. But not too much character if you know what I mean. There has to be a trade off somewhere.

I think we're going to get it. And I think we're going to take it.

Somewhere in the background I have still been knitting. Three baby scarves completed, two more to make. Then I plan to move onto a squares blanket with the speckled wool. I have to wash it first. It has been waiting for me to wash it for weeks. I feel so guilty I keep putting it off. Surely it's not that hard.

Yesterday I went to a friends house. A friend who has 3 children under the age of four. A friend who's house I could spend hours (days) looking at. Full of beauty and spirit. She makes giant pom-poms. She pulled out a bag of wool to give me some so I could make my own. Within minutes the wool was all through the house, around the furniture, the children and us. So much fun. I'm going to go start my pom pom now.

It is almost the end of our lease. I will always remember this little roof we live in, as our baby girl was born here. But there are parts of it that I want to forget, too. (Hello possum family! Golly gosh you are loud at night.)

The thought of flat hunting makes my stomach twist. We almost had a place last week, but it came in way way over our budget. It was probably a bit fancy for us. We are not the kind of people that live in fancy apartments. We are the kind of people that live in crappy but charming apartments. But lately I am so over the crappy part. Can I have charming and mildly modern but not too sterile? Please.

I feel as if the last few years all I have done is moved. I am ready to settle in. At least until we can buy something. I'm viewing a place this weekend, but I am afraid I will probably be viewing it with 50 other people. The rental market in Sydney is brutal. But I'm trying to stay positive. We will find something. Eventually. I hope so.

PottyMouthMama has tagged me to play Happy 101. I have to name ten things I like. I thought I'd make it an ode to my recent fictitious (and not so fictitious) online shopping spree. Here we go:

1. This Mociun jumpsuit
2. Shabd hand-dyed leggings
3. Party hats from Jess Brown
4. More connies
5. American Apparel organic tee's
6. This sundress by Wiksten
7. The new LuckyBoySunday collection (for BB)
8. Saltwater sandals
9. Karen Walker sunglasses
10. This gold wallet by Status Anxiety (I left mine outside in the rain...)

I'm opening this up for everyone to play along. It doesn't have to be shopping related, just list ten things you like!

Some photos Hayley took of BB yesterday. I can't believe she is almost 5 months old now.

For the first time in a considerable while I have an incredible urge to shop. I was discussing this with PB who feels it is natural, seeing as I am now a) a mother and b) living in Sydney. London clothes just feel a bit dressy for this new life of mine. There is no time for dry cleaning, hand-washing or ironing. I have been spending a lot of time on fictitious online shopping sprees. I will gather my findings for a future post. For now, I will share my new haunt for socks –  Country Road kids department. They make a good foot photo. I also have another foot photo for later in the week. One with a great story.
