I have an ongoing love/hate relationship with Stuff. Being surrounded by things I love makes me happy, although the upkeep (especially in a humid and partial to dampness environment) does my head in at times. Despite reoccurring thoughts of how much easier a clutter-less, minimalistic existence would be I seem to continually accumulate more and more crap. I can't help it. I'm attracted to colourful things – it's innate.

Top: at Vinnies today: floral pillowcase, picture book (that unfortunately stinks of mothballs), flannel baby blanket and granny rug.
Bottom: spontaneous pedi during my ordered-out-of-the-house-for-being-a-grump break. I thought I'd go for something a bit rad to cheer myself up. In hindsight not so sure... (Shoes from Greek-sandals that I found via veronica loves archie – which I'm currently a little bit obsessed with, particularly for interiors inspiration.)

PS. I put together another video! But you know, two video posts in a row would be ke-razy. Will pop it up here soon.

Love your Vinnies finds and just adore your pink polish! What a gorgeous and fun choice for summer! You have inspired me to paint my nails now. Love the little video too. What perfect music, the Amelie soundtrack always makes me smile.

The pink is good, Anna.

Reading the word 'rad' has brought to mind your Christmas cards you made last year. I CANNOT believe that was 12 months ago! Jeez where does the time go?

I didn't know Sydney was humid. And yes, I too am attracted to colourful objects.... I think that's why I had children; they give you the perfect excuse for acquiring bright stuff and being late :-)

I think I'm actually loving the pink. Especially with the (very cool) tan sandals.

And I know what you mean about magpie tendancies towards bright, colourful things. Ben rolls his eyes with every cute pot, vintage pillowcase or knitted whatever I bring home. I can't help it. I'm addicted, man xx

I love love love the colours in both of these photos. Anna, I just don't know you do it, time and time again.
I can't wait to hit up Vinnies. I strangely miss that op shop smell.
I think when it comes to pairing a colour with tan, the brighter (preferably neon) the better.
I think women are natural gatherers. Featherers of the nest and all that jazz. That's my excuse anyway. xx

Ps Veronica was always better than Betty. Hands down. No contest.

I love sandal tan (and tan sandals!). It's about the only place I can tan.

I'm with you on the colourful crap. Though I do get the guilts and do frequent purges and then accumulate in a never ending cycle of loveliness.

There once was a hip Mama Bear
Who painted her toes with flair
She'd seek tones and hues
To cure her blues
To find a more colourful lady is rare

Love a good Lear Limerick. x

(Was that the daggiest post you've received?)

those sandals - yes, yes, yes! I've asked Santa for some for Christmas...although I've been stalking these ones: http://www.ancient-greek-sandals.com/ (love myrtis, clio, ariadne, electra, Iphigenia...!)

Those Greeks sure know their leather footwear... and names!

I have a photo of my sister, when she was a baby, lying in bed with my mum on that same pillow case you bought, circa 1975!!

Great shoes and I love this pink!
Just read your post about pre-school, here in France it seems much easier, public schools are free and usually great so it makes it easier for the parents.

About accumulating crap but wishing for a minimalistic existence, we're in the same boat :)

Have a lovely Wednesday!
