This time last year my unchristmassy self stated that card-making would become a tradition in our household. Although these ten second scribbles have nothing on the googly-eyed trees, I've held true my word. And what I've lacked in effort I've made up with in consistency – not getting around to sending them again.

It's been a tumultuous year to say the least, and I've gone to and fro with this space but I end the year feeling grateful for this warm and kind online community. Thank you for reading, taking the time to comment and email. Have a happy and restful Christmas and a joyous celebration to bring in 2012.

Until then,
Anna xxx

Anna, I'm glad you've landed back in the blog for now. I love 'visiting' here – you have a lovely, economical way with words, and I'm interested to follow your adventures in parenthood (my son is just a couple of months younger than BB).

I hope you have a great festive season, and I hope 2012 is kind to you and your family and friends!

  17. Thank you Anna, for your wishes. Happy Christmas to you and your family.

I always do like to come back and see your blog. Although we have little in common (I could not wear your clothes, I have three boys, I love Christmas and I live in the country - but I do love Beirut, triangles and colourful interiors), I do love your honesty and the fact you are not hidding the challenges of what makes us mothers, fathers or just humans. It does makes me feel good to see somebody else at the other end of the world has the same challenges and does not always know how to react first.

    Thanks again and take care!

  18. Ha, Kellie's comment made me laugh. The garage sale is not a bad idea :)

Here's wishing you a merry xmas and happy new year Anna! It has been great to have you back in blogland. You certainly have an way with words (and photos); it would be a shame not to share all that talent. Plus, I love the honesty of your posts. They make me feel like I'm not alone in this wonderful but exhausting experience which is motherhood.

    Have a good one Rummeys!

    xx

  19. A very merry Christmas to the Rummey family! I was inspired last year by your card-making efforts and had it on my To Do list this year, but alas didn't quite get there. It's been a tumultuous year for me too, and I've enjoyed reading your posts, knowing I'm not the only one. Thank you for your honesty - it's refreshing! See you next year! x

  20. Hi there,
My name's Cass and I live in Canberra, and I thought now was the perfect time to say hi from a new follower, and season's greetings!
I have a little girl(coupla months older than BB)and a 6 year old son. Also a chef partner (THANKFULLY given up the night work), and I(once was?)a graphic designer..who knows what when I go back to work.
I second all the above and look forward to more great posts next year. Love your pics, and words.
    Cheers, Cass

  24. I comment infrequently but I always stop by looking for new photos and words. Yours is a blog I truly enjoy, probably because you state the good with the bad. I wish you and your family all the best for the new year and hope to see many more entries on here in 2012.
